BH
Dear Camp family,
We had an amazing first week of camp! We'd like to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation to our incredible counselors and administrative staff, whose hard work and dedication made the week such a success. Ask your child about: Karate, pool, Gaga, art, line-up songs and much more! We'd love to hear your feedback.
Regarding the survey sent in our last email about the option of early Friday pick-up, it appears that the majority of families prefer to keep the current schedule. As a result, Friday pick-up will remain unchanged going forward (pick-up will continue to take place between 3:45 PM and 4:00 PM).
The Weekly Spark: Torah Time Recap from Rabbi Shmuli!
Hey Camp Families! What an incredible week of growth, laughter, and learning we just wrapped up. In Torah Time, we used our imaginations, played epic games, and discovered how relevant the Torah is to our daily lives.
Our Verses of the Week
Ask your camper to share the big ideas behind these two powerful verses we focused on:
תּוֹרָה צִוָּה לָנוּ מֹשֶׁה מוֹרָשָׁה קְהִלַּת יַעֲקֹב
"Torah Tziva Lanu Moshe, Morasha Kehilas Yaakov"
שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל הַ׳ אֱלֹקֵינוּ הַ׳ אֶחָד
"Shema Yisrael Hashem Elokeinu Hashem Echad"
Big Ideas We Discovered
Your Ultimate Birthright: The Torah is Hashem’s personal gift to each of us from the moment we are born, teaching us how to live every single moment.
Like a Fish in Water: A Jew without Torah is like a fish out of water. Choosing the Torah as our exclusive guide leads to a happier, simpler life!
Hashem Knows YOU: Hashem is your personal G‑d who knows you better than anyone. He eagerly awaits your heartfelt Tefillah (prayer) and is so proud when you just do your best.
This Week's Mission: The Bedtime Challenge!
The Mission: Say the Shema every night before going to sleep. As you close your eyes, remember: Hashem loves me, He knows me, and He is so proud of my efforts today.
Parent Tip: Ask your child to explain the "fish out of water" story at the Shabbos table tonight! Have a wonderful weekend!
Parsha Place!
Parshat Pinchas
Shabbat Candle lighting this week is at 8:45 PM
Shabbat goes out at 9:54 PM
Shabbat Meet N' Greet:
Bring your family for a Shabbat Meet and Greet from 4:00 - 5:00 PM tomorrow at the Waxman Chabad playground. This is open to all camp families regardless of week enrolled. Feel free to bring a friend.
Preview: Sneak Peek at Week Two
Check out the sneak peek at some of the exciting events we have planned for next week. We can't wait for another fun-filled week at camp! Because of the heat wave this week we had to reschedule the trip to the farm and therefore we have added it to next week's schedule.
