Children attend from day schools, public schools, private schools or relatives visiting from out of town. We're home to some of the happiest campers in Beachwood!
At Camp Gan Israel of Beachwood there’s something for every age:
• Kiddie Division – Entering K-1st grades
• Middle Division - Entering 2nd-4th grades
• Older Division – Entering 5th and 6th grades
• CIT's – Entering 7th and 8th grades
• Junior Counselors – Entering 9th grade
• Staff opportunities – Entering 10th grade through college.

The camp day is 9:00am-4:00pm. 2026 Summer will be located at Chabad on Green Road. Extended Care is available for an extra fee. Perks include curbside drop off and pick up, low staff/camper ratio, possible Kosher hot lunch option, tier'd tuition, payment plans and loads of fun in a safe and happy Jewish environment.

Safety and security are the number one concerns. Counselors to camper ratios are structured to maintain the highest levels of supervision. Staff members go through extensive training including CPR and first aid. Buses are well maintained and safety inspections are done daily. On-Site Security ensures everyone coming and going is safe.
Camp Division Details:
Kiddie Division- Entering Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Gan Israel’s special program for children entering Kindergarten offers an exceptional early-childhood environment. Emphasis is placed on sharing, caring, turn taking and problem solving with a focus on building skills for life. Campers enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities in a specially designed kindergarten setting. Aside from field trips our Kiddie Camp program visits the fire house, police station and library.
Middle Division - Grades 2-4
For Boys and Girls entering 2nd-4th grades, the program has a focus on Sports, Art & Theater along with all the Dress Up days, camp fun and field trips. Their program focuses on inclusion, personal achievements vs peer pressure, understanding others and sharing space while upholding boundaries. The campers feel the step up from Kiddie Camp as they move into our Boys and Girls Divisions. (Note: Middle Division separates bunks for boys and girls.)
The CGI Overnight is for Grades 3 & up.
Older Division - Grades 5 & 6
Campers entering 5th & 6th grades choose from different Tracks receive extra camp privileges. The program has a focus on friendship, relationships, sportsmanship, safety and skill building. They help run the camp theme days and also enjoy field trips and fun. (Note: Older Division separate bunks and activities for boys and girls.)
CIT's - Grades 7 & 8

Campers In Training have the unique opportunity to learn responsibility and accountability while getting to know themselves and their innate talents. These Boys and Girls will get to run activities, help out in the art room, kitchen, at sports and create their own CIT activities for the younger campers. CIT's will also have training sessions that teach them skills of delegating, participating, team building, event coordinating, self regulation, empowerment and clarity. They also enjoy age appropriate activities and trips.
A Travel Camp Option for this age group is being considered as well.
Junior Counselors - Grade 9

Junior Counselors gain hand on-experience and develop unique skills learned from the Senior Counselor and staff training. JC's learn to shoulder responsibility in a supportive setting! They join in the full staff training and are coached throughout the summer on how to lead, build and empower themselves in self regulation and clarity. They have one-on-one interactions with camper and older staff members. Junior Counselors join Staff in special activities, Nights out, and other staff events.
Staff Opportunities - Grades 10+

Staff are handpicked from our local community as well as from the CGI international network of teacher’s colleges, seminaries and high schools throughout the world. From Australia to Israel to London to New York, our highly trained staff bring a unique flavor and lively spirit. Counselors at Gan Israel do more than just supervise activities and maintain order. Through songs, cheers and original games and activities, the counselors form a bond with the campers that often lasts well beyond the summer experience.
Staff are trained in the Nurtured Heart Approach and learn to Give, Grow, & Guide with Confidence and Clarity. Staff Opportunities vary in all types of responsibilities whether directly hands on with campers and staff or behind the scenes with set up, planning or development.
